Description

Ashland Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, flexible full-time speech and language pathologist starting in the 2023-2024 school year to provide assessment, direct speech and language services and participate in a multidisciplinary team at the Ashland Middle School with the availability to to provided time in out district buildings as requested by the Director of Student Services.

 

Requirements

 

DESE MA licensure as an SLP is a must, and experience working with students in the public school setting is a preference. The ability to communicate in multiple languages is a preference, but not a requirement. The candidate must have a MA or MS degree in Speech Language Pathology in the State of Massachusetts, and MUST hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide evaluations for children with a wide variety of communicative disorders
  • Develop and implement programs for children with speech and language disorders
  • Work with the Evaluation Team in developing educational plans for children with unique needs
  • Work with special education personnel to provide an integrated program for children with multiple special needs
  • Provide consultation and staff training of projected programs
  • Implement individual and/or group communication programs
  • Supervise/monitor the implementation of programs
  • Supervise a shared Speech and Language Pathology Assistant
  • Utilize knowledge of Augmentative/Alternative Communication Resources
  • Develop IEP, Assessment Reports, Progress Reports and Treatment Plans
  • Directly report to the Director of Student Services and Building Administration
