Ashland Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, flexible full-time speech and language pathologist to complete assessments, provide direct speech and language services and participate in multidisciplinary teams at Ashland Middle School or Ashland High School. The schedule/placement of service delivery will be worked out with the existing speech and language pathologist and the middle/high school and the Director of Student Services and will be discussed annually. Ashland Public Schools currently has 7 Speech and Language Pathologists working within the school district who meet regularly in small groups/as a group to discuss trends and best practices.
Requirements: DESE MA licensure as an SLP is a must, and experience working with students in the public school setting is a preference. The ability to communicate in multiple languages is a preference, but not a requirement. The candidate must have a MA or MS degree in Speech Language Pathology, licensure in the State of Massachusetts, and MUST hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA.
Responsibilities: ? Provide evaluations for children with a wide variety of communicative disorders
? Develop and implement programs for children with speech and language disorders
? Work with the Evaluation Team in developing educational plans for children with unique needs
? Work with special education personnel to provide an integrated program for children with multiple special needs ? Provide consultation and staff training of projected programs ? Implement individual and/or group communication programs ? Supervise/monitor the implementation of programs ? Supervise a shared Speech and Language Pathology Assistant ? Utilize knowledge of Augmentative/Alternative Communication Resources ? Develop IEP, Assessment Reports, Progress Reports and Treatment Plans ? Directly report to the Director of Student Services and Building Administration
