Ashland High School is seeking a Head Girls Varsity Basketball head coach beginning for the 2024-25 season. Ashland’s coaches are actively engaged in the community, and embrace both the mission and values of the Athletic Department and APS School District. 

 

The role of the Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach is to be responsible for coaching, character development and providing direction to student-athletes so that they achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork. 

 

The position requires you to interact thoughtfully and respectfully with student-athletes, fellow coaches, staff, parents and community members as well as following the mission of the school. Positive communication strategies, organizational skills, and safety awareness are key requirements in addition to a breadth of knowledge that can be communicated effictively while competing in one of the best girls basketball league's in the state. This position reports directly to the Athletic Director.

 

Requirements: 

• Previous coaching and/or playing experience at the high school level or above is preferred. 
• Good communication and organizational skills. 
• Available to practice after school, on weekends and in the evening.
• Coordinate and be actively involved in all levels of basketball (Varsity, JV, MS)
• CPR/First Aid Certified Preferred
