The Mindess School is seeking a Grade 4 Long-Term Substitute School Counselor for the 2025–2026 academic year. Anticipated start date is February 5, 2026 with the assignment concluding around May 4, 2026.  Mindess is a vibrant learning community dedicated to academic excellence and the social emotional growth of every student. We foster a collaborative environment where educators, students, and families partner to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide individual and small-group counseling 
  • Facilitate weekly SEL lessons in fourth grade classrooms
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student social-emotional growth
  • Assist with crisis intervention and student support plans as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with school staff and families
  • Participate in student support meetings and professional development opportunities

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Degree in counseling or related field preferred
  • DESE licensure as a School Counselor preferred 
  • Ability to build rapport with students and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
  • Flexibility, reliability, and a collaborative mindset
